Big Petal Pink Disk Bead

This bead is unique because I coldworked over some of its surface (hand ground and polished it after the bead came out of the kiln). The sides have been slightly flattened and buffed back to a semi gloss finish. Under magnification you can see the surface marks and how I handworked the glass. I decided to keep the bead with these faint marks as a sign of how it was made. The overall appearance is very soft and satiny to the touch.

All of my larger beads are made slowly and carefully by hand at a flameworking torch. I love to create smooth symmetrical forms that are covered in repetitive details and patterns. The end result is a bead that not only looks interesting but feels good in your hands. This bead can be collected as a single bead or be worn on a cord or chain as a necklace.

Each side of the bead has a slight variation in color.
